About Great River Psychotherapy

We are Great River Psychotherapy for a variety of reasons. We are only a couple blocks from The Mississippi River and the Great River Road on ancestral Dakota homeland. We love this location and the beauty and joy the river can bring. The name Mississippi is a French rendering of the original inhabitants of the area, the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe or Algonquin) name for the river, Misi-ziibi (Great River). Rivers are powerful symbols of journey and travel and are a good metaphor for a therapeutic journey. They sometimes flow swiftly and sometimes appear to be moving slowly. We all know it is difficult to tell by looking how deep waters may be. For these and other reasons naming our psychotherapy clinic after the Great River just down the street felt right to us.

We are in network for many insurances, such as BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UCare, HealthPartners, Medica, and United HealthCare. Lisa is a provider for Medicare and many of its related products. Dale and Rachel will be Medicare providers beginning in 2024. We always recommend you check with your insurance before your first appointment regarding your deductible, co-pays etc. It is your responsibility to know your benefits.
